The workman is an unfortunate fellow is doing his rounds of the office building where disgruntled ex-cop Howard Payne plans to rig an elevator to explode. Happening upon Payne in the elevator control room in the basement and mistaking him for a repairman, the workman demands to see a work order.
Payne complies, retrieving a sheet of paper from his toolbox.
Unknown to the workman, Payne has a screwdriver concealed behind the bogus work order, which he swiftly whips out and jams into the workman's ear, stabbing it into his brain.
As the poor guy dies, Payne assures him, "Nothing personal."
